We made it to Michigan!!!

Can I just say that my children were ANGELS on the flight to MI!!! No, it was not a peice-of-cake to have traveled with them both, but I couldn't haven't expected anything better. I am so proud of them both. In fact, four, YES, FOUR people approached me after the flight and paid my babies a compliment.

Have you ever become misty eyed over something trivial like that?... I did. It is what I like to call a Surge of Emotion-happens often. I think it was a combination of exhaustion, happiness the plane had landed safely, excitement to see my family, and the pride I felt that it must be my parenting and creative-ness that kept both my babies occupied and content during the wait at the airport, (thank goodness for large windows and large airplanes to attract the youngins'), and quiet during the flight. Just when I was going to start patting myself on the back and call Jeff from my cell phone telling him what a GREAT traveling mommy I had been, I remembered something...

THE CONTENTS OF MY TRAVEL DIAPER BAG:

a bag of M&M's, a bag of Doritos, two scones, a whole bag of bacon,two turkey wraps (hold the lettuce), 4 packages of Foot Long Fruity Roll-Ups, a huge booklet of DVDs, a player, numerous new markers, new and interesting books, pink bubble GUM-hey, I have to help with the ear popping situation...NOTE TO SELF: it helps-but Dum Dum's work better. Basically, I fed my children CRAP food and salt to keep them quiet. Not so good! So after realizing what I was responsible for doing to my kids' teeth, I politely said, "Thank you," to the strangers offering me looks of admiration and kind compliments. I resisted the urge to brag about myself to Jeff. Instead, I bragged about the kids behavior, secretly taking a little credit for it myself, after all-they are my kids and I did offer them carrot sticks and asked them thought provoking questions regarding the flight, where we were and where we were going. Kudos to me!!!!
