not just the taste of a well-made cupcake necessarily, but rather the idea of the cupcake.
in grade school, fellow classmates birthdays were usually celebrated with a
sheet cake-a treat indeed. however, every once in a while some one's parents would
make cupcakes. tiny little decorated beauties, yummy to look at and better to eat!!!
i'm not sure when i started to associate cupcakes with all things sweet, and pretty, and fun, but when i see cupcake inspired anything...i am compelled to pick it up, check it out-thank you notes, birthday invites, cupcake t-shirts, little girl cupcake pajamas. random thoughts i know, but the cupcake is an efficient little thing and deserved a little blog love!!!!
here are a few pics from our baking session last week: operation heart-shaped cupcakes!

mommy made a mistake and doubled the size of each cupcake...
but we learned that we like them better like that anyway!

oh, i love cupcakes...kind of like the donut hole thing..."it's not a full sized cake so, certainly eating 10 isn't as bad, right?" i've read about this bakery in nyc...i think it's called sweet magnolia, and they're known for their cupcakes. when i go to ny, i'm steppin' off the plane, jumpin' in a taxi, and saying "to sweet magnolia, please."
love your pics...your words...the joy on their little faces! now, i want to make some cuppercakes!
ok, really I love love love cupcakes....I am with ya! i have this recipe for cream cheese strawberry cupcakes that are delicious....i'm trying to think up a way to have cupcakes be part of samantha's first birthday theme. any ideas? oh and you know a friend of mine thats getting married this summer...she's having a cupcake wedding cake. so fun! anyway...love these pictures and the heart shapes and tons of sprinkles. so kiddish and lovely. xo

they are so precious and the cupcakes look scrumptious!!!
Get ready for cupcakes on Friday! I am a huge fan of them, too. I agree with Kelle, the small ones mean you can have....well, more than one! My friend Courtney, well, lets just say she is the president of the cupcake club. Maybe we should call our girls nights the Cupcake Club. hmmm....
yum.
love the pics and the story and not really liking the envisioning of shredded lettuce with my cupcakes to make them healthier ... it's what hit me at the end of the post. my brain randomly associates things that were never to be associated.
love the fun it looks like you all were having!
